"Eligible new funds" means the increase in the customer's latest total deposit balance across all deposit accounts compared with the balance 7 calendar days earlier, calculated in HKD; if the customer has already opened a time deposit with any new funds within the past 7 calendar days, that amount is excluded from the eligible new funds calculation. The extra +1.0% applies only to exchange transactions made through the "Exchange and open a time deposit" flow on the "Foreign Exchange" page of HSBC mobile banking; the extra +2.0% applies only at branches or via 24-hour manned phone banking, is capped at the eligible new funds amount, and does not apply to HSBC mobile banking (so the +1.0% cannot be enjoyed at the same time). Transactions involving cash exchange, cash deposits/withdrawals, outward/inward remittances, HSBC Global Transfers, FX limit orders, HSBC Mastercard debit cards and high-yield investment deposits are not treated as eligible FX exchange transactions. This offer cannot be used together with other FX exchange or time deposit promotions, nor with the HSBC Premier FX discount offer. The minimum time deposit amount is HK$10,000, RMB10,000 or foreign currency 2,000 in original currency; for the eligible new funds offer the maximum amount must not exceed the eligible new funds.
