China CITIC Bank International online time deposit: up to 3.23% on HKD and 4.02% on USD with new funds
Place a time deposit with eligible new funds through Internet Banking or the inMotion app: up to 3.23% on HKD, 4.02% on USD and 1.35% on RMB. New customers who open an account and place a 6-month HKD time deposit with eligible new funds in the same calendar month can earn a total annual rate of up to 3.3% (3.3% for HK$1m to HK$2m, 3.25% for HK$500,000 to under HK$1m, 3.2% for HK$100,000 to under HK$500,000)
Details
The China CITIC Bank International online time deposit promotion runs from 1 to 30 September 2026, while the new-customer reward promotion runs from 1 July to 30 September 2026. Deposits can be placed through Internet Banking or inMotion with HK$10,000, US$1,500 or RMB10,000 and above. Eligible new funds are the net increase in the latest total deposit balance over the balance on the last banking day of the previous month, less any principal that has already enjoyed a new-funds offer in the same calendar month. The rates were published on 15 September 2026 and are for reference only. Cash rewards generated by the extra annual rate will be credited to eligible accounts by 30 April 2027.
Terms & Conditions
Deposits must be placed with eligible new funds through Internet Banking or inMotion. A new customer is someone who has not held any current, savings, time deposit, securities or investment account with the bank (individually or jointly) in the past 12 months. The deposit cannot be renewed and cannot be used together with other deposit promotions. Early withdrawal forfeits accrued interest and incurs an extra fee. The bank may change rates at any time without prior notice. Subject to the bank's official terms and conditions.
